अनुच्छेद
निर्देश प्र.सं (16-20): निम्न्न अनुच्छेद को पढ़कर दिए गए प्रश्न के उत्तर विकल्पों में से चुनकर दीजिए।
एक विशाल कांच के महल में न जाने किधर से एक भटका हुआ कुत्ता घुस गया। उसने जिधर नजर दौडाई, उधर कुत्ते ही दिखाई दिए। उन्हें देखकर वह भौंकने लगा। उसे सभी कुत्ते भौंकते दिखाई दिए। वह और जोर से भौंका। आखिर वह कुत्ता उन कुत्तों पर झपटा, वे भी उस पर झपटे। बेचारा जोर-जोर से उछला, कूदा, भौंका और चिल्लाया। अन्त में गश खाकर गिर पड़ा।
कुछ ही देर बाद एक दूसरा कुत्ता आया। उसको भी हजारों कुत्ते दिखाई दिए। वह डरा नहीं प्यार से दुम हिलाने लगा। सभी कुत्ते दुम हिलाते दिखाई दिए। वह प्रसन्नता से उछला कूदा, अपनी ही छाया से खेला, खुश हुआ और फ़िर पूँछ हिलाता बाहर चला गया।
दुनिया कांच के महल जैसी है। अपने स्वभाव की छाया ही उसपर पड़ती है। अगर आप प्रसन्नचित्त रहते हैं, दूसरों के दोषों को न देखकर उनके गुणों की ओर ही ध्यान देते हैं तो दुनिया भी आपसे नम्रता और प्रेम का बर्ताव करेगी।
अंग्रेजी में एक कहावत है "अगर आप हँसेंगे तो दुनिया भी आपका साथ देगी", पर अगर आपको गुस्सा होना है और रोना ही है तो दुनिया से दूर किसी जंगल में चले जाना ही हितकर होगा।
Passage
A stray dog somehow entered a huge glass palace. Wherever it looked, it saw dogs everywhere. It began barking at them, and all the dogs appeared to bark back. It barked even louder and eventually attacked them, causing them to attack it in return. Finally, the poor dog became exhausted and fell down. A little later another dog entered the palace. It also saw thousands of dogs, but it was not afraid. It wagged its tail lovingly, and all the dogs appeared to wag their tails. It happily jumped around, played with its own reflection and left wagging its tail. The world is like a glass palace. It reflects our own nature. If we remain cheerful and focus on the qualities of others rather than their faults, the world will also treat us with kindness and love.
